Micro is a subset of the fusion partner dance style that involves small movements and body isolations, often in “closed embrace”. The emphasis is on your connection with your partner and is meant to be much more about personal experience than any kind of outward display or performance. Often to an onlooker, Micro may not even look like much, but it is so from the perspective of the dancers.

yes! nuance is currently one of the only mask-required fusion dances in Seattle. We hold community health with great importance as well as the access of our immune-compromised friends who may only be able to attend dances safely where all attendees are masked.

We recommend clothes that are clean, comfortable and easy to move in. While micro is not as energetic as say Lindy hop, or even Blues, having unrestricted movement will improve your experience.

Shoes: No outside shoes, high heels, or marking shoes are allowed on the dance floor. You may bring dance shoes, or dance in your socks.
